美腦死孕婦　26日拔管離世

美國德州約翰彼得史密斯醫院違背家屬意願，為1名腦死孕婦33歲婦女穆諾絲（Marlise Munoz）接上維生器，但在院方判定體內胎兒無法存活後，法官裁定醫院必須拔掉維生器。

史密斯醫院發表聲明表示院方26日遵照法院判定，當天上午11點半移除穆諾絲的維生器，結束她的生命。

穆諾絲原本期待迎接第二個新生命，不料去年11月26日她在家中昏倒送醫後，被宣告腦死，當時她已懷孕14周，她的丈夫艾瑞克希望能依愛妻意願移除維生器，但礙於法律規定醫院必須力保孕婦生命，艾瑞克因而提出訴訟。（國際中心／綜合外電報導）
