監察委員與考試委員任期將分別在今年7月、8月屆滿，總統府啟動考監兩院提名程序，預定明天召開第一場審薦小組會議，前法務部長王清峰、立法院副院長洪秀柱都是出掌監院可能人選。

黨政人士證實，總統馬英九已指定副總統吳敦義擔任第5屆監委、第12屆考委提名審薦小組召集人，現任院長亦是小組成員之一，日前已召開幾次幕僚會議，提名咨文預定5、6月間送至立法院，由立委行使同意權。

談話時常引起爭議、且總是挑「特定媒體」茶敘、對外表示意見的監察院長王建煊恐將無法連任。中時報導，王清峰、洪秀柱皆為可能人選，政壇人士分析，「非正即副」。至於考試院長關中是否能夠連任，目前未能得知。

由於審薦小組尚未正式開會，總統府否認有內定人選。
