行政院政務委員楊秋興今日發表參選高雄市長聲明，並對高雄市政多所批評，高雄市政府新聞局隨後表示，高雄縣市合併以來，在水利、交通等各項施政建設均比過去投入更多、成績更好；宜居城市更是前瞻性的思維，帶動地方發展。盼中央給予地方更多資源，一起為高雄的建設共同努力！
 
新聞局指出，宜居城市是前瞻性思維，對帶動地方發展極有貢獻。在「宜居」目標的帶動下，高雄市許多指標評比在五都中頻獲肯定。去年，第17屆國際宜居城市大獎，高雄又再創高峰，有11項公共建設入圍決選，而最後結果，共獲4金3銀3銅殊榮，得金數及得牌數是全國第一，也是全世界各城市中的第一名。（涂建豐／高雄報導）
