本屆亞錦賽中華隊表現亮眼，其中隊長「野獸」林志傑表現亮眼，不僅率隊打進季軍戰，有機會前進明年的在西班牙舉行的世界杯外，尤其出戰大陸隊的亮眼表現，更讓不少大陸網友扼腕。有網友就突發奇想，舉出球員林志傑、名模林志玲、歌手林志炫和演員林志穎，稱說「名字有林志的沒一個是肉腳的」，網友按讚。
周五中華隊出戰大陸隊，中華隊克服最多落後17分的逆轉，最後以96比78、18分的差距擊敗大陸隊，這一勝讓全台欣喜若狂，除了打進4強有機會爭取明年世界杯的門票外，更是38年首度對戰大陸的勝利。其中隊長林志傑的關鍵時刻挺身而出，更是許多網友稱讚是獲勝的大功臣之一。
當天晚間擊敗大陸隊之後，突然有網友突發奇想，舉出另外3位名字有「林志」的台灣藝人，包括林志玲、林志炫和林志穎。事實上這4位名字有「林志」的，在大陸都十分火紅，知名度都相當高。除了林志傑在大陸CBA的浙江廣廈隊打球，被網友封為「第一全能」名模林志玲在廈門代言房地產，都有七位數字的進帳，本身也就頂著「第一名模」的光環。
林志炫的好歌喉，讓他日前在《湖南衛視》的「我是歌手」節目拿下亞軍，在當地的唱酬也高達250萬人民幣一場(約新台幣1200萬)，被網友封為「第一好聽」；林志穎則是在當地拍戲的片酬，也都是百萬人民幣起跳，而且他的童顏經過20年幾乎沒變，被網友封為「第一童顏」。
