拉丁裔地產開發商佩雷茲（Jeorge M. Perez）餽贈邁阿密美術館4000萬美元（約台幣12億元）現金及畫作，獲得該館命名權。佩雷茲顯然對美術館相當滿意，他說：「這是我這輩子第二滿足的事，僅次於我的家庭。」
