【簡嘉宏／綜合外電報導】為了縮短數位科技在各國發展的差距，聯合國轄下的亞太經濟社會委員會（UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific，ESCAP）與國際電信聯盟（International Telecommunication Union，ITU）18日共同啟用了「資訊超級公路互動式地圖」（interactive map of the information superhighway），藉由地圖所呈現的相關數據，聯合國將致力於縮小各國（尤其是亞太地區）間數位科技發展的鴻溝。
 
ESCAP執行秘書海澤爾（Noeleen Heyzer）18日表示，無形與有形資本的發展不均已成為亞太地區國家面臨最大的威脅之一，發展差距的擴大將影響教育資源無法有效分配，使得經濟狀況較差的學童始終沒有機會接受良好的教育。未來在地圖上，將特別標示數位科技發展較落後的地區，以提醒世人努力縮短各國的科技發展差距。
