【國際中心／綜合外電報導】辛巴威外交部常務秘書畢瑪（Joey Bhima）10日表示，辛巴威不願意重返大英國協，即使在斯里蘭卡召開的大英國協（Commonwealth of Nations）領導人會議將恢復辛巴威會員身份列入議程也毫無意義。
 
畢瑪表示，自2003年辛巴威主動退出大英國協後，大英國協領導人會議作出的任何決議對其都沒有約束力，除非以英國和澳大利亞為首的大英國協收回對辛巴威土地改革及人權狀況的不公批評，否則辛巴威不會考慮重新加入。
 
2002年，辛巴威總統穆加比（Robert Mugabe）連任，以英國為首的西方國家當時便以選舉過程缺乏公正為由，宣佈暫停辛巴威的大英國協成員資格。隔年12月，辛巴威會員資格仍未恢復，辛國政府隨即發表聲明正式宣佈退出大英國協，在甘比亞上個月也宣佈退出後，大英國協目前有53個成員。
