公共運輸逐漸受到國人重視，台鐵局將推行禮貌乘車運動，於列車行駛間宣導民眾遵行禮讓，並預計本月底試辦8站的火車排隊線，提升禮貌乘車的公民文化。

近年搭乘火車的旅客數量大幅成長，尤其是都會區通勤時段及例假日尖峰期間，旅客人數不斷增加，台鐵局為使列車到站時旅客上下車能維持順暢，以「禮讓弱勢、先下後上、共維乘車秩序」為主軸，加強站、車旅客嚮導服務，並號召旅客配合共同打造優質的乘車環境。

台鐵局將於11日起，在全路各車站及列車上推動禮貌乘車運動，透過播音、LED、車站公告及現場服務人員嚮導等方式，宣導全民一起遵行乘車禮讓活動，營造便捷、友善的乘車環境。

台鐵局表示，因為目前使用的列車種類較多，各車種車門位置也不相同，台鐵局預計試辦斗六、嘉義、新營、臺南、岡山、新左營、高雄及屏東等8站的區間車停靠月台位置的排隊線畫設，預計於9月底前可分批施工完竣及施行，評估試辦成效並推廣至其他車站，打造禮貌乘車的公民文化。

臺鐵局特別呼籲，旅客共同支持與配合禮貌乘車運動，以先下後上、禮讓弱勢、於月台循序乘車，共維準時、愉悅的乘車品質。
