台鐵新購EMU800型通勤電聯車，預定在8月下旬由日本交車抵台，預計明(103)年春節可投入營運，將能提升捷運化的運能及通勤族的服務品質。

火車通勤們注意，台鐵的票價可能因為新型車種加入有所調漲？台鐵局今(31)日指出，委請專家學者研議差別票價方案可行性，於年底前提出規劃方案。
繼普悠瑪號後，台鐵又有新車要加入營運囉！台鐵昨日發表新購EMU800型通勤電聯車，共37列車組296輛，第1批原型車，2列車組16輛預定在8月下旬由日本交車抵台。
台鐵副局長鹿潔身表示，800型電聯車將會比照普悠瑪號一樣完成相關測試後，經由第3方認證，預計明(103)年春節可投入營運，將能提升捷運化的運能及通勤族的服務品質。
配合新購車輛陸續加入營運，台鐵局指出，正委請專家學者依據今)年3月21日立法院交通委員會臨時提案決議，研議差別票價方案可行性，於年底前提出規劃方案。
台鐵局強調，依據鐵路法第26條規定，國營鐵路運價率計算公式，由行政院報立法院審定。運價依前述公式調整時，由交通部報請行政院核定後實施。台鐵局票價如進行票價調整，將依前述規定辦理，絕不會貿然調漲。
