在美國5月貿易赤字出現擴大情形後，巴克萊(Barclays)周三(3日)將其對該國的第2季GDP增速預估值自1.6%下調至1.0%。

在寫給客戶的1封信裡，巴克萊指出GDP下修原因為進口增加幅度大過預期。

貿易赤字走高將使GDP表現受到拖累。

美國商務部稍早公布，該國5月貿易赤字上升12%至450億美元，遠高於經濟學家預測的403億美元赤字金額。
